I have been so blessed to share in 30 of our 190 years of educating today’s and tomorrow’s women of power! The first time I turned the corner to Sacred Heart back in 1979, I felt God’s hand on my shoulder and heard His voice in my ear, saying, “Darlene, this is where you belong.” Two years later we were transferred to Lafayette and I have been sharing in the Sacred Heart history and legacy ever since. Teaching some of the best and brightest girls in Acadiana, praying daily in the Shrine, and having the phenomenal support of caring and compassionate faculty are the main reasons I remain here.  My daughter, an alumna of 1993, told me the best gift we, her parents, gave her is her Sacred Heart education and we are proud that our two granddaughters will share in our heritage. May we flourish for at least another 190 years!
